A multi-year artistic contract with EMI Classics signed in 2012, has already resulted in Polish violinist, JANUSZ WAWROWSKI, releasing his first album for the label. “Aurora” has received excellent reviews (Strings, The Strad, Pizzicato, Huffington Post) and will soon have its new international release under the Warner Classics label.

Janusz Wawrowski has performed at the Berliner Philharmonie, Piotr Tchaikovsky’s Conservatory (Moscow), Victoria and Albert Museum (London), Grosser Saal of Mozarteum (Salzburg), De Doelen Concertgebouw (Rotterdam), Tel Aviv Music Center, Teatro Teresa Carreño (Caracas), and participated in many festivals: Chopin and His Europe Festival, Polish Music Festival, Salzburger Festspiele, Bebersee Festival and Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

He studied with Prof. Mirosław Ławrynowicz, Salvatore Accardo and Yair Kless. An amazing virtuoso, Janusz has performed with almost all the orchestras in Poland, with Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie, Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra in Venezuela, and also with several orchestras in Czech Republic, and Ukraine. He has also appeared with numerous prominent conductors: Conrad van Alphen, Łukasz Borowicz, Gabriel Chmura, Mykola Diadiura, Agnieszka Duczmal, Arthur Fagen, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Tomáš Netopil, Vladimir Ponkin, and Antoni Wit.

Janusz is known for exploring missing and forgotten scores by Polish Romantic composers, and for premiere recordings and concerts of contemporary Polish music, including «Oneiros» by D. Przybylski and «L.A. Concerto», dedicated to Wawrowski by T. Opałka. Cooperating with Jan A. P. Kaczmarek, Wawrowski has recorded music for the Hollywood films «Evening» by Lajos Koltai and «Get Low» by Aaron Schneider.

Janusz Wawrowski is a professor at The Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and the Artistic Director of the “Spaces of Music” Chamber Music Festival.
